Good Shout Poetry Slam #1 featuring Mark Grist
A Poetry Slam? In Peterborough? That’s a Good Shout, mate!
The premise is this, each poet has 3 minutes to impress the audience. Randomly selected judges will then score them out of 10. Our slammers will compete over the course of two rounds, the winner, will walk away with a humble cash prize and the honour of being Peterborough’s first Slam Champion!
Featuring special guest, Mark Grist;
Mark Grist is an award-winning poet, teacher and battle rapper based in the UK. He’s clocked up millions of views for both his poetry and rap battles online and regularly tours live shows in the UK and overseas. His first collection of poetry, ‘Rogue Teacher’ is out with Burning Eye Books, he’s just finished work on a TV documentary with Red Bull ‘Mark Grist Battles the World’ and is currently recording a new podcast series called ‘Mark Can’t Rap’.
If you are a poet and want a slot, email GoodShoutSlam@gmail.com or post on the event wall!
