Let’s Make a Poster!
Drop in with your family between 10am – 2pm for some free drinks, snacks, and make a poster about Bretton!
100% free and suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult)
The idea for this workshop was inspired by the local legend of ‘Owen’. There is a slab of concrete outside Watergall school which has been signed by a mysterious Owen, along with some footprints and other interesting marks. This got us thinking about how residents talk to each other, local tales and gossip, and how local people find out about stuff. We wanted to do something that’s like the Bretton Community facebook page but in real life! What local gossip do you love about Bretton? Is there something you’ve always wanted to say about your neighbourhood? Join us for some DIY crafty fun and make your own poster!
Peterborough Presents will be launching a poster competition as part of the day, where local residents will vote on facebook for their favourite posters from the ones submitted. We will then get the winning posters professionally printed and put up around the area. Like our page to keep in touch:
This workshop is part of a series titled ‘Under the Surface’, creatively exploring local neighbourhoods with artist Matthew Booker.
