The third Peterborough Women’s Festival will take place on the weekend of 10 March 2018. This events theme is ‘Women and the Arts’ and we are due to start arranging things soon.

On Friday March 9, Townsend Productions will be performing their latest show, ‘We are the Lions Mr. Manager’, based on the inspirational story of Jayaben Desai and her fight for dignity in the workplace, late 1970s, better known as the Grunwick Strike. More details will be announced regarding tickets sales and venue, after the summer. See:

The Town Hall day with stalls, speakers and workshops will take place on Saturday March 10. Please let us know if you would like a stall to promote women’s campaigns and issues.

Other fringe events will be posted as and when, but in the meantime, if you would like a stall, can put us in touch with speakers, would like to arrange a fringe event under the PWF banner, have an inspirational workshop in mind please email

N.B. We have no budget for the event, many people give up their time to help put this together and to take part, which is amazing. We may be able to pay expenses for speakers / performers who have come over long distances, and try to raise money on the day with bucket collections. PWF is a PTUC initiative to help, inspire and draw attention to the brilliant things that our community of women do.
