Vision of You

Following sell out performances in Manchester & London (The Space at Studio 88, Crazy Coqs) West End stars from the smash hit show Bat Out Of Hell The Musical are set to bring their extended version of VISION OF YOU IN CONCERT to the Key Theatre, Peterborough on March 19th 2019.

Rob Fowler (Rocky Horror Show, We Will Rock You, Jesus Christ Superstar) & Sharon Sexton (Commitments, Billy Elliot, Liza Minnelli Story) met on the first day of rehearsals for Jim Steinman’s Bat Out Of Hell in 2016. Despite the fact that the numbers they performed in the show were soaring & intricate duets, the pair had never sung together. It is clear to all who have witnessed “Bat”, that their “amazingly strong, clear and exquisitely controlled voices” (Britishtheatre.com) create a unique and emotive blend, that fit perfectly together.

Having originated the roles of Falco & Sloane in the show, they enjoyed rave reviews for their performances & onstage chemistry. The rollercoaster journey of Falco & Sloane’s relationship, was the inspiration behind their duets album “VISION OF YOU” which was widely and warmly received by fans, in December 2018. Together, with musical director Steve Corley (Alison Moyet, The Bodyguard, Beautiful) Fowler & Sexton selected 11 duet songs, to offer an insight into how they see the backstory of the much loved roles they played for the past two years.

The pair decided to further develop this idea & set about creating a live concert version of the album, which they staged in January. The set list grew & the storyline was brought further to life with Erin Ong’s beautiful animation artwork & voice overs from their fellow Bat cast mates. The concerts were an unprecedented success across the board & so Sharon and Rob have been working on extending this special concert even further, inviting special power house performers, Simon Gordon & Georgia Carling to join them, in a two act concert, this time on Rob’s home turf.

It has been over 20 years since Rob (originally from Morton) took his first steps on stage with the Key Youth Theatre (KYT) in their production of “Much Ado Ron Ron” & so it is only fitting that current members of KYT will also be making a very special appearance in VISION OF YOU alongside Rob, as he marks a long overdue return home to perform, with this very special piece.
