Arts Council England is hosting a series of workshops across England to help libraries with their applications to the Arts Council’s open access Grants for the Arts programme. Please note that the workshops are only open to people working in libraries or library services.

The workshops are taking place in early 2018:

11 January – Free Word Centre (London)

12 January – Nuffield Theatre (Southampton)

18 January – Z Arts (Manchester)

19 January – Hull Library

25 January – Exeter Phoenix

1 February – Nottingham Playhouse

8 February – Cambridge Junction (Cambridge)

Attendees are welcome to choose any available session, but are asked to limit the number of representatives from their library service to two at most. Further information regarding these events can accessed by emailing Eventbrite bookings will close on the 30 November 2017.

The Libraries Taskforce will also run a series of four masterclasses around the country which will complement those being run by Arts Council England. The Taskforce masterclasses will focus on applying for non-Arts Council funding programmes. Its intention is to increase the number of library services successfully applying for funding, including by addressing barriers to making applications and considering how partner organisations and/or other parts of local councils might support the application process. The masterclasses will include practical sessions and presentations from funding organisations including Heritage Lottery Fund.

These will take place during February and March 2018. Dates and locations will be confirmed and advertised shortly, via theTaskforce blog.
