Transported are now inviting applications from exciting and innovative, individual artists and companies of quality for two On Your Doorstep projects.

Boston Crematorium Project (On Your Doorstep)

Transported is looking for an experienced and innovative artist whose creativity can help us improve a well-used crematorium garden space through the design of a water feature.   The space has been nominated by a local community group.

We want an artist to respond to the space with a suggestion of how an artistic intervention themed around a water feature could improve the area, creating a long lasting, weather resistant piece that can stand the test of time without being overbearing or insensitive to the location. The aim of this project is to provide a calming, artistically inspired intervention that will enhance the area and the experience of those using the space. An element of community engagement would also be ideal whilst remaining mindful to the needs of those involved. The project delivery time will be between February and June 2015 with the final piece(s) being installed in June 2015. There is the potential for flexibility if required.

Boston Woods Trust Brief (On Your Doorstep)

Transported is looking for an experienced and innovative artist whose creativity can help us improve an attractive, natural, well used outdoor space. The theme for this project is Lincolnshire Botanist Sir Joseph Banks and the aim is to benefit the area with as much input from the local community as possible, either through meaningful consultation or active artistic participation.  The space has been nominated by a local community group.

All ideas put forward by artists must be able to withstand all weather conditions as they will be situated outside, be accessible by all and in keeping with the themes of the area. All artist applying must be willing to work with the Boston Woods Trust team to allow for the development of the best, most suitable piece for the area. As Boston Woods Trust will be responsible for any maintenance the piece may require beyond the project it is paramount they are a part of the process so that this can follow on naturally.  The project delivery time will be between February and June 2015 with final piece(s) being installed by the end of June.
