Hoarding: Philosophy in City Gallery “What happens next”

Join Michael Reid and the Peterborough Philosophy Group to consider the question ‘What happens next?’

We live our lives jumping from event to event and often find things go a bit flat after the event. Christmas and New Year are a bit like that.

You plan the parties, meals friends and family to see, presents, food……. You get the picture. By the 3rd of January you’re left poorer and with three new bottles of something you’d never drink in the cupboard. It’s the same with our plans of what we want to do in life and a city’s plans of how it wants to develop.

So “What happens Next?” is bubbling up in our minds at all these levels all the time and troubles us a bit or a lot. Why?

Is there a happier and easier alternative to this mode of forever wondering?

Explore that on 3rd January.

Michel Reid – At the age of 13, Michael wanted to know what philosophy was so he went to the penguin bookshop and bought Plato’s Symposium. The contents were so shocking that he started a long journey of discovery into the fundamental questions of life. After a few decades of juggling a career in design and engineering, starting up businesses and inventing, this journey is still very much being enjoyed. Michael now runs a monthly Philosophy group at the Buttercross Tea Rooms in Central Park, Peterborough (http://www.meetup.com/Philosophy-in-the-Park/) and in the Palmerston Arms, Oundle Road as well as weekly evening meetings.
