Call Out – Writers House

Metal is looking for young people aged 15 – 19 from Peterborough who are writing their own poetry, performing spoken word, who might be battle rapping or writing song lyrics. You might be simply writing in your bedroom, performing on YouTube or at school or events.

If this is you then Metal, is offering you the chance to work with poet mentors Dean Atta, Toby Campion, Charley Genever and Keely Mills for a week of workshops, talks, gigs, writing and performing in the October half term.

Each of the mentors will lead their own workshops with you, developing different aspects of writing and performing alongside other like minded people. You will then get to be part of Writers House Write Club, a gig on the Friday night where you will perform in small teams to a live audience. The poet mentors will guide you through the whole thing. The chance to draw on the experiences of such great poet mentors doesn’t come along very often so this is something to grab with both hands.

So, if you really want to develop your work, get to work alongside some amazing poet mentors then you should apply.
