Mask Theatre Auditions
Mask auditions are always open to anyone, irrespective of experience, and are informal, you don’t need to learn lines beforehand, you can read from the book. Just bare in mind that rehearsals take around three months, generally on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and you are expected to attend when you’re called – make sure that give any dates you’re not available at the audition so the production team can draw up a rehearsal schedule. If you get a part you are also required to become a member of The Mask – it only costs £20 per year and includes all the insurances & legal bits and bobs you need to perform on stage. Auditions (like the rehearsals) start at 7:30pm at The Lindens Residential Home, Lincoln Road – there’s a map below to help you get there.
It’s the week before Christmas, and the new Tory government is facing dissent over its latest Bill. With a majority of only three, the Whips’ office is out in full force, and they’ll stop at nothing to keep the strays in line. But they’re in for a long night: boy scouts are rioting in Whitehall, the PM’s golfing with the President, five Tory rebels are on the loose, and the Chief Whip’s playing at Santa – could this be the beginnings of a leadership challenge? Mask is putting on a production of Whipping it up, following a successful rehearsed play reading last Christmas, for a Christmas production to be staged 17th to 21st December, at the John Clare Theatre.
