Poets United – Why and What is Poetry?

Home  /  Events  /  Art  /  Poets United - Why and What is Poetry?

Local poetry collective Poets United return to St John’s following their well-received performance for the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta in June. This time the poets have asked for full poetic licence, so we haven’t given them a particular theme. They’ll be reflecting on what poetry is for each of them personally.

As usual the St John’s café will be open from noon, staffed by volunteers from The Green Backyard, and a selection of hot drinks and home made cakes, scones etc will be on sale with all profits going to the GBY.

Admission is free, but those attending the talks are asked to make a donation to help cover the costs of the event if possible. The suggested donation is £3.
