Rubber Ring, 2nd February 2018, Key Theatre, Time: TBC
Jimmy is sixteen, sexually confused and stuck in Sheringham. He’s screwed. Well he’s not actually: that’s the problem. Where can Jimmy explore in Norfolk? Rock pools. So when pop star Morrissey comes to London, Jimmy flees to the city to try and find his hero and himself. But when Jimmy finds he’s not attracted to boys or girls, he’s never felt more lost. Then Jimmy meets gender fluid Billy…
‘Rubber Ring’ is a laugh-out-loud coming of age comedy about a Norfolk teenager’s struggle with sexual and regional identity. In 2016 it opened to rave reviews at The Pleasance Islington and this year transferred to The Tristan Bates Theatre in London’s West End prior to a national tour.
