Community Bridgebuilders

Peterborough is thriving with diverse communities from all over the world who have made this city their home. We think these communities deserve to be represented in the arts and culture in Peterborough.

That’s why we put together our Community Bridgebuilders programme – we want to create activities that are relevant and appealing to local people from all communities, and support you in getting involved in creating great art for Peterborough.

Our Community Bridgebuilders are all ages and backgrounds, and they meet monthly at the Beehive Community Centre (not the pub!) to work with the Peterborough Presents team to help shape our events programme. They do this by: suggesting and commissioning artists, recommending venues, advising on marketing, and promoting events to their own communities.

Our Bridgebuilders are currently working towards creating a ‘Fun Palace’ in October 2016. Fun Palaces are nationally recognised annual festivals that combine art, science, and community. At a Fun Palace, everyone is an artist and everyone is a scientist, and they believe that creativity in community can change the world for the better.

Come and help us build our Fun Palace!

New members are always welcome. If you are someone who is active within a community and you want to get involved in providing opportunities for local people, you should come along to our meetings. Come to as many as you want, or just pop in when you’re able. We meet monthly at the Beehive Community Centre, PE1 3BB.
