This inspiring and funny coming of age film is written by award winning Peterborough born writer Julie Mayhew and explores death, destiny and Shakespeare – all in under 14 minutes. “Elsie, Prince of Denmark”  will shoot at Peterborough Regional College with local students working alongside an award winning team of professional cast and crew in early November.  The project is led by critically acclaimed film-maker Brek Taylor together with Julie Mayhew and actress Sally Phillips.  The project will recruit up to 30 actors and 6 assistant crew from young people aged 16-18 living in and around the Peterborough area. The local young team will also have the opportunity to experience the post production process and see the film come to the big screen.

“Elsie, Prince of Darkness” has already secured  £10,000 plus technical and logistical support, however £5,000 is still needed to secure everything for the Peterborough shoot, complete post production and start the marketing campaign.   The “Elsie” team would also be delighted to hear from anyone who can offer accommodation for the crew, or help with local transport or can provide secure overnight parking in the area.

Professional film-making with youth opportunities is an area that the “Elsie” team want to take forward into future film projects.  Their aim is to develop professional film work experience for young people starting out on their careers and you could play a key role in making this happen.
